• 3.0 out of 5 stars from Roger -- Good, but was there an editor somewhere? : I rarely write a review for a book, as everyone has different ideas about what makes a book "good". I had to say something about "Kennedy's War" however. The story is fine, and it fits well with the nine books leading up to it. It's great to get back in touch with the characters after so long. The editing however (IS there any editing?!), is really awful. Ok, there aren't many misspelled words, but that's because they're the WRONG word, which a spellcheck application won't see. It's not minor either... they're everywhere. It's like the book was created from a voice-to-text application and never corrected. Did anyone read this book in its final form? We'll never know. There were enough of these problems that it became a game to count the mistakes. I gave up counting when I had completed reading 25% of the book. It was far too distracting. I like the author, I like his books, but he needs to hire an editor that does the job. (Just one example... there's a definite difference between "ordinance" and "ordnance", especially in a military-related book! This one of many.) ( Reviewed in the United States on October 7, 2021 )
